Why, when children are given sidewalk chalk, and a wide expanse of sidewalk, do they envariably write on the fence instead?  More sidewalk then fence…do they really just automatically do the wrong thing?

    Too cute, from a Granny’s perspective but I for one would be a much better and more comfortable artist drawing on a fence than huddled over a sidewalk. Maybe it’s a comfort thing…???

    I would be okay with the fence where the rain can wash it off (depending on the fence type) but what irks me is when they have a whole driveway and patio to draw on why do they go for the house or the porch which never sees a drop of rain.

    At least it is only chalk… it would be worse. I think all kids do that. Some times my silly kids draw on the rocks in my moms front yard.
